6x zoom telescope for a mobile phone camera

I don’t know why no one’s thought of this before. It’s a mobile phone case mod, which replaces the standard camera lens with a 6x zoom lens. To install the zoom lens, simply remove the standard shell and, replace it with the new one fitted with the built-in lens.

Phone Booth for Cell Phones

There are 2 sorts of places that you don’t want to use your cell phone, crowded but quiet areas (like libraries) and exceedingly noisy areas like nightclubs. Using your cell phone in quiet areas often results in dagger looks (I always seem to sit next to cell phone shouters on trains, very annoying), whilst noisy environments make cell usage almost impossible (ever tried booking a taxi from a nightclub. Salemi Industries have come up with a solution, The Cell Zone™

The Cell Zone is a completely sound resistant phone booth, minus the phone. It offers a few benefit to both users and the establishments that fit them.
Provides consumers with a convenient,
quiet place to place & receive cell phone calls
Stops cell phone users from disturbing
others in your establishment
Discourages patron’s from leaving an
establishment to make or receive calls
Advertising space available for ROI

Nanobatteries, from mPhase, they’re probably just the future

Nanobatteries, I sure love new words.

A company called mPhase has been developing a nanomaterial based battery with some very amazing properties. When they reach scale for mass production their claims for their nanobatteries are that they will be recyclable, they will have indefinite shelf life (in case you need to use it 50 years from now), and instant usability (which if they are touting seems odd, as that’s what you expect from a battery).

Traditional batteries, according to the mPhase site, have some built in limitations. They don’t lend themselves to miniaturization. They won’t work with production processes that put things on microchips, a big issue for such small things. They see the standard cost of materials as high. Finally, an issue on batteries I was previously unaware of which involves maintaining electrolytic separation (the energy generating chemicals from touching)

The plus side for these little buggers is huge! (follow the jump )

Incipio Cases Will Protect your iPhone, Even if it’s a Just a Paper Mock-up

Incipio believes in the iPhone so much, they are releasing a line of iPhone cases two months before the actual launch date of Apple’s new toy. One of the products is the Zipper Case, which includes an “old school” notebook with pen that you can start using now while your iPhone is not yet in your hands, according to Incipio. Yeah, right. They don’t seem to think much about the screen’s resistance to scratches however, as they say in their website “Zipper closure protects your Fragile Phone while not in use”.

Nokia N95 goes undercover

Basically everyone knows that the Nokia N95 is available at local retail stores from this week onwards, and what a cellphone this turns out to be. In fact, calling it a cellphone won’t do it any justice. What the Nokia N95 is is actually a mini computer that you can carry with you wherever you go, featuring 3G connectivity as well as an integrated GPS navigation system to keep even the busiest person on track and on time for all the appointments lined up. At $750 a pop, it certainly doesn’t come across as cheap, but what matters is what you get within, right? Spycatcher has lost no time in endowing the already super N95 with an additional feature - its very own interceptor software.

Google phone available early 2008

It appears that we will be seeing the long awaited Google phone sooner than we originally thought, or maybe not depending on your point of view and possibly insider information. But again this has been a long running saga where the original stories began to break about the phone, followed swiftly by all the rumors about what it may do, what it cannot do and so on, until it reaches the point where we all wonder if this is really ever going to happen at all. Clearly it is now, so what has the Google phone got in store for us?

Classy Wooden Phone: The S-Series

Here’s a thing that we don’t see that often nowadays: a concept phone that doesn’t have a futuristic, outlandish design, but rather sticks to a classic look. And by classic I don’t mean just ‘old-school sliding camera phone’, I mean wood. Yes, wood. The casing is made out of beautiful lacquered wood, giving it a somewhat noble look.
